Email verification

Email verification keeps your lists clean by identifying invalid and risky addresses before you send to them. Connect your own verification server and contacts are checked automatically as they are imported.

How automatic verification works

When you import contacts, verification starts automatically in the background as soon as the rows land — provided you have a verification server connected. Contacts are checked in batches, and the import status page shows a live breakdown — how many came back verified, risky, or invalid, and how many are still waiting. You can keep working while it runs.

Per-list verification toggle

Each list has a Verify on import toggle. When it is on and a verification server is connected, every imported contact is auto-verified; when off, contacts land as Unverified and can still be emailed. You can turn the toggle on or off any time from the list settings page.

What happens at send time

When a campaign or automation sends, EmailFlow AI looks at the verification status of every recipient:

  • Verified contacts are included normally.
  • Invalid contacts are excluded automatically — no bounce risk.
  • Risky contacts are excluded by default, but you can opt in to sending to them on a per-campaign basis in the recipients step of the campaign wizard.
  • Unverified contacts (not yet checked) are included in sends.

Connect your own verification provider (e.g. Kickbox, ZeroBounce, EmailListVerify) from Sending › Verification Servers. You pay the provider directly at their rates.

Connecting a verification server

Go to Sending › Verification Servers › Add Server, pick your provider, and paste your API key. EmailFlow AI validates the connection on save. Once connected, imported contacts on lists with verification enabled are auto-checked.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate verification provider account? Yes. You connect your own provider (Kickbox, ZeroBounce, etc.) and pay them directly. There are no platform-imposed verification fees.

What if I don't connect a verification server? Contacts land as Unverified and can still be emailed. Verification is recommended but not required.

Can I verify contacts retroactively? Yes. You can re-import or use list-level verification to check existing contacts at any time.
